We also tapped 3 more trees out in our maple bush! The sap is being collected and boiled through Transition Guelph's "Urban Sugaring Project": www.transitionguelph.org/project-list/urban-sugaring-project/
As part of this project, John McCrae will be hosting a "Syrup in the City" event on Saturday, April 1st (10am-1pm) with the CELP students (The Grade 10 "Community Environmental Leadership Program") and the Urban Sugaring Program. We will be having a pancake breakfast, maple tapping demonstrations, sap boiling and pioneer sawing as well as other family fun! Mark your calendars!
Healthy Teeth: Thank you to Maddox's mom, Alisha, who is a dental hygienist and who did a follow-up presentation to the healthy teeth presentation we had several weeks ago. We have been talking about:
- which foods are healthy/unhealthy for teeth
- the importance of flossing and brushing
- brushing twice a day (after breakfast and before bed)
- having an adult help with brushing to ensure that all parts of the teeth are well brushed (inside, outside and molars)
The dental hygiene materials that were sent home yesterday are from Alisha.
Library: FYI Our library day will be Monday for the next month.
Enjoy the weekend!
