Please send your child's costume to school in a clearly labelled bag, and label any loose parts.
Students will put on their costumes after first recess (11:10). The Kindergarten classes will participate in the dance-a-thon (11:45), and we will then lead the costume parade (12:15). The students will take off their costumes before eating and going outside for recess.
If the costume has many parts, please only send a few key items. We ask that children do not bring any weapon accessories (swords, lasers, etc.). As well, we ask that you do not send any Hallowe'en treats to school, later this week we will be making a yummy treat to share with the class. If you have donations for the dance-a-thon, please send them to school tomorrow. You're welcome to join us for the dance-a-thon and/or parade!
Scientists in the School:
On Tuesday, November 8th, we are having a special "Scientists in School" workshop called "I Can Be a Scientist". During this hands-on workshop, the students will learn about different types of science including chemistry, physics and geology. We are looking for volunteers to help with this workshop (8:35-11:50). Please let us know as soon as possible if you are able to volunteer! There is a cost of $8 for this workshop.

On Take Me Outside Day, we joined many other classes in creating giant works of art with natural materials. Our class created some giant trees and a sun. After spending 80 minutes outside, many children had chilly feet. We were glad to see that the following day, most students were wearing boots and splash / rain pants. This is so important as we spend time outside each day (often in the morning). It would be helpful to leave a spare pair of socks in your child's backpack.
