It has been a great first term! We have seen so much growth in terms of the students' use of French and their overall confidence at school! We are continuing to talk to the children about taking responsibility in class (putting lids on markers, tidying up materials, cleaning up after they eat, working to solve conflicts with friends, etc.). We look forward to another productive term ahead.

We sent home a song sheet with "Zoom, zoom, zoom" and "Les étoiles dans le ciel" (Twinkle Twinkle). We have been having fun singing songs in rounds ("Frère Jacques" and "Les étoiles dans le ciel"), as well as singing songs simultaneously ("Les étoiles dans le ciel", ABC and "Baa Baa Black Sheep"). We've been impressed with the children's ability to sing and listen at the same time!
Thank you for helping with the creation of Valentine's Day cards. We were impressed with all the writing the children did... we know it can be quite a process! They really enjoyed sharing their cards (which involved a lot of reading and name matching). We made a heart shaped banana cake and did other heart related activities (paint stamping with sponges and potatoes, making heart ornaments, using heart cookie cutters with play dough, etc.).
