A few reminders...
If you're dropping your child off in the morning, please bring them around to the kindergarten area (even if you arrive right at the bell or just after it). We will often be starting our day outside. If you find we are not there, then just come into the school to join us in class.
It's hard to keep up with the weather these days! We love spending time outside, so please be sure your child is prepared with either warm clothes (hopefully we won't need these for much longer), hats and sunscreen, rubber boots, etc. Layers are a great way to be prepared for this fluctuating weather. More and more we're asking the children to self-regulated and determine what clothing is appropriate for the given weather. The children need to apply their own sunscreen, so this is a good skill to practice at home. Please only send shoes with laces if they are able to do them up independently!
When your child is the student of the day, they are encouraged to bring in one of their favourite books to share with the class. They should retell the story in their own words. Please see the calendar for this schedule. If their day has passed, it's not too late, they can still bring in a book to share.
On April 1st, we watched a video clip showing that when half a kiwi is planted with half a banana they will grow together. Click here (orange line) to view (the banana and kiwi segment begins at 2:05 seconds):

After several weeks, we drew and wrote about our predictions of what happened. We had varied responses including:
- the banana will be rotten (la banane est pourrie)
- they will grow together
- the banana will be half rotten and half growing
The result of our experiment can be seen in the photo on the right hand side.
