Thank you so much to the volunteers who joined us for our walk today. The class did an amazing job and we walked with the rest of the school around to Gordon and back. We were proud of their great listening and cooperation!
Volunteers
It's amazing that we have so many volunteers this year! Our volunteer schedule is currently posted on the "Calendar" tab above. We are very flexible, so please let us know if you have been scheduled for more / less volunteer slots than you would like, or if the times don't suit your schedule. We understand if it's too short notice for you to come this week. If you're ever unable to come, please send an email to [email protected] or write a note in your child's "sac de communication". When possible, please try to tell us the day before if you're not able to come, but do not worry if you need to cancel the day you're volunteering.
Some of you indicated that you'd like to volunteer for special events. We will notify you prior to class trips, Scientists in the School presentations, and school wide events such as the Terry Fox Walk. You're welcome to volunteer for these events or schedule a visit(s) during which you can lead a presentation or special activity, or help out with whatever we are doing in class.
Weather
Please be sure that your child has enough warm layers to be outside in the mornings. Soon we will be needing light weight mitts and and hats to be out in the nippy fall weather. Quite a change from the heat and humidity of the past few weeks!
Class Trip
This Thursday is our class trip to Andrew's Scenic Acres Farm. Please ensure your child is dressed for the weather as we'll be outside all day. The children should have ample food in their lunches and a water bottle. Please also send them with a reusable bag (stronger than a plastic bag) as they will each be bringing home a small pumpkin from the pumpkin patch.
Photos
Below you'll find photos from the Terry Fox walk, as well as photos of the class spreading the new mulch which was delivered to the kindergarten yard, along with some huge logs / tree trunks. These provided quite a lot of enjoyment and excitement!
