This Tuesday and Wednesday the Year 2 students will be at school. Half the Year 1 students (JKs) will join us for a full day on both Thursday and Friday. As of Monday, September 9th, our full class will be together. Please contact us if you have a Year 1 student and are unsure of which day they are coming to school for their first day (Thursday, Sept. 5th or Friday, Sept. 6th).
We need to know how your child will be getting home on their first day of school. For Year 2 students, please send a note if they are not using their typical method (e.g., if a bus student is being picked up on the first day). If you have a Year 1 student and have not told us what is happening on their "visit" day, please send us a note so that we know if we should send them on the bus or not.
At the beginning of the year we will be focusing on getting to know one another, establishing routines, and learning how to play and work together. Please reassure your child that it is fine if they do not understand everything that is being said in French. With time and practice, they will learn many new words!
Just a reminder to please send in:
- labelled spare clothes
- a photo of your family (can be emailed to [email protected])
- walking trip permission form (as soon as possible as this allows us to explore the beautiful forests and river beyond our school property)
Classroom Supplies
If possible, please consider sending in the following items to be used in the classroom (anytime in the coming few weeks). These materials are shared, so they do not need to be labeled.
All students: 1 box of crayola markers (thick or thin),1-2 large glue sticks, 1 pack dry erase markers
Year 1s (JKs): 1 roll of duct tape (any colour) or clear packing tape
Year 2s (SKs): 1 box of medium or large freezer ziplocks
New this year:
This year we will be sending you messages via School Messenger, instead of updates on this blog. Information about subscribing to School Messenger will be shared in a separate blog post.
We're looking forward to the year ahead. Please do not hesitate to contact us if you have any questions or concerns.
