If you no longer have a student in our class, please feel free to unsubscribe from our site. We hope that your children have a smooth transition into Grade 1 and we'll be keeping an eye out for them during the coming weeks.
A special welcome to those of you who are new to our class. We're looking forward to getting to know you over the course of the coming year. If you have not already done so, please subscribe to this site by typing your email in the box on the right hand side (Enter your email address).
School begins on Tuesday morning for our Year 2 (SK) students. We have 15 returning students (from our class last year) and a couple of students who are joining us from other classes, as we now have 4 Kindergarten classes instead of 5. We hope that the returning students will do their best to welcome and help our new classmates (both Year 1 and Year 2). We have 11 Year 1 students (JKs). Half of them will join us for a full day on Thursday, and the other half will come for a full day on Friday. As of Monday, September 11th, our full class will be together.
Please contact us if you have a year 1 student and are unsure of which day they are coming to school for their first day (Thursday, Sept. 7th or Friday, Sept. 8th).
We need to know how your child will be getting home on their first day of school. For year 2 students, please send a note if they are not using their typical method (e.g., if a bus student is being picked up on the first day). If you have a Year 1 student and have not told us what is happening on their visit day, please send us a note so that we know if we should send them on the bus or not.
At the beginning of the year we will be focusing on getting to know one another, establishing routines, and learning how to work and play together. Please reassure your child that it is fine if they do not understand everything that is being said in French. With time and practice, they will learn many new words!
Attached is the Kindergarten Information Package that will be sent home on the first day of school. All students will receive a paper copy, but we're posting it here for your reference.
We're looking forward to the year ahead. Please do not hesitate to contact us if you have any questions or concerns.
