Currently our dramatic centre is a pet shop / vet clinic. Thanks to a parent from our class, we've been able to arrange a visit to the Royal City Animal Hospital & Grooming Centre on Edinburgh Road. We'll be walking there this Wednesday afternoon. Please return the permission form tomorrow (Tuesday) if possible (if not on Wednesday).
Welcome to Laurissa Di Ilio, our new co-op student from the University of Guelph's Child, Youth and Family Studies program. Laurissa will be in our classroom Monday-Thursdays for the remainder of the year! She began her placement today and we think she will be a great addition to our team!
It's Education Week and this Thursday, May 10th, we're having an Open House (5-6 PM). This will be follow by Night Among the Stars (performances by some of the older graders from 6:15-7:30 PM).
Save the date: Our end-of-year performance and picnic will be held on Friday, June 22nd from 12-1 p.m.
Top Secret (continued): This week we will begin incubating our chicken eggs (please don't mention this to your child/ren). We need homes for the chicks once they hatch (in about 4 weeks). If you're interested or know of someone who is, please let us know (including the number of chicks you would like).
Just an FYI that both Mme Noftall and Mme Johnson will be away this Thursday, May 10th for a Kindergarten Workshop.
Friday, May 11th is Jump Rope for Heart. Pledges can be collected online using the following link:

If you've collected cash or cheques, please return the pledge envelope by May 11th (include your child's name and Johnson on the envelope).
I wasn't kidding when I said it's a busy time ahead! :)
Here are some of the activities we've enjoyed recently:
Today is Music Monday and we enjoyed a great performance by a barbershop quartet from Toronto.
Last Thursday, we had many wild animals at school and we enjoyed making "seed bombs" with our learning buddies. We mixed together soil, clay and wildflower seeds and then scattered / threw / buried them in a area where we hope to grow wildflowers.
