This Wednesday is our trip to the Arboretum!
Please ensure your child is prepared for the day with the following:
- a hat
- sunscreen
- water bottle
- lunch.
- footwear that can get wet (boots, sandals)
We will be leaving the school at 9:00 and will be back around 1:30. Our program is a pond study so the children need to have footwear that can get wet (rain boots or water shoes/sandals). They may bring this footwear in a bag so that they can put on dry shoes after the pond study.
End-of-year picnic:
Just a reminder that this is on Thursday, June 22nd. Our presentation in the gym will begin at 11:30. Please arrive around 11:20 to get seated. Following our presentation we will have a picnic in front of the school. Please bring your own picnic lunch to share with your family / child. If you are unable to attend, your child will eat their own lunch while we picnic together.
Library:
Please check at home to see if you have a school library book hiding anywhere. We will send home notes with the students who have books to return.
Heat & Fatigue:
As we approach the end of the year, we have a lot of tired students. We're needing to have a lot of chats about listening, cooperating and making good choices. To help with this, we are avoiding being outside during the hottest part of the day (we're staying out first thing instead). As well, we're asking the children to drink lots of water and rest each day at school. Anything you can do to help your child stay rested would be appreciated.
Our exciting morning:
This morning we went and saw a turtle laying eggs beside the bike path! We went in small groups and tried to stay quiet so we would not disturb her. We noticed how long her tail was and how she dug with her foot before laying her eggs. It was really exciting!
