Thank you so much for everything you've done to help with a smooth start to the year, including labeling your child's items, sending spare clothing, and being prompt when returning forms. It's a busy time and we appreciate all your help Thanks as well to those of you who have contributed school supplies. Trying to get your child to bed early can help as well, as everyone is tired at this time of year!
Some of the things we've been doing this week include:
- observing caterpillars and now 2 chrysalises (We've predicted how many days it will be until we have a butterfly. What do you think?)
- exploring the forest and river (finding insects, spider webs, mushrooms, feathers, the blue heron, and more)
- learning our routines
- talking about calming our bodies by taking deep breaths (we trace our 5 fingers as we inhale and exhale)
- experimenting with various art materials including watercolour paints and pastels
- helping to clean and set up new play houses (we had a very enthusiastic cleaning crew!)
- riding tricycles and plasma cars (first time today)
- learning French songs
- and so much more!
