The students have been doing a great job with the play and we're looking forward to sharing it with you on Friday!
We hope to see you then. Please remember the following:
- to send your child in/with the correct colour of t-shirt for the play (they looked fabulous yesterday!)
- a picnic for your family to enjoy
- a picnic blanket
Our play begins at noon in the school gym.
While you're at school, please take a moment to check the lost and found items in the front foyer!
We had a fabulous time by the river and saw many tadpoles (including some with legs!), as well as crayfish! We're hoping to make it back another day (possibly tomorrow).
Next Year:
We have begun talking to the students about next September. The students moving into Year 2 will be in our class again, and we have been talking to them about how they will need to help the new Year 1 students (especially as there will be many more Year 1 students compared to the Year 2s).
The students going into Grade 1 have more of a transition. There will be four classes with Grade 1 students (two Grade 1 classes and two Grade 1/2 classes). All these classes will be in our hallway and the students will find out their placements on the first day of school. On Monday they will be visiting a Grade 1 class (they will all go together to one classroom, so this will not necessarily be their class next year). Then on Tuesday morning, they will get to experience the "flipped lunch" with the rest of the school (the students in Grades 1-8 go out for recess before eating). We have been talking about other changes as well, such as having agendas, having more expectations (more listening and time working), being combined with the students from the other kindergarten classes, etc. We will continue talking about what next year will look like, to help them prepare for this transition. Please let us know if you have any questions.
