Tomorrow, everyone at John McCrae is encouraged to wear PINK. If your child doesn't have pink clothing, they could perhaps borrow something or make a pink badge or item to wear.
It is important to understand the difference between bullying, meanness and being rude. These differences are explained in the following article: http://www.huffingtonpost.com/signe-whitson/bullying_b_2188819.html
Young children can be mean, rude and do things to hurt one another, but they don't typically have the capacity to bully. At times, there are repeated incidents (i.e. pushing, name calling) but this frequently occurs between friends. We support the students in standing up for themselves, in expressing their feelings, and in seeking help when needed. However, we do not want the children calling each other bullies.
Thanks for your help with this at home. Merci!
