Progress report and interviews:
Today your child's progress report was sent home. This is a copy for you to keep. Please return the empty envelope. You can book a parent-teacher interview using your child's OEN (Ontario Education Number) located at the top of their progress report - The Kindergarten Communication of Learning, Initial Observations.
Save the date, Dec. 13, 12-1 pm:
On Thursday, December 13th, our class will be presenting a short play, followed by a family "picnic" in the gym. We will be doing this with Mme Higgins and Mme Tran's class. Our presentations will begin at noon, we will be eating around 12:30 and we'll be finished by 1 pm. We hope to see you there (for all or part of this event).
Ami du jour;
Starting tomorrow, when your child is the "friend of the day" (l'ami du jour), they will bring one item to school. This will be a "mystery" item which we will hide in a bag, and the rest of the class will ask questions to discover what it is.
Scientist in the School:
The students had a great time today learning about the work of various types of scientists, such as paleontologists, marine biologist, chemists, and astronomers/astronauts. Thank you so much to our parent and Grade 7 volunteers who made this program possible! Just a reminder to please pay the $8 (preferably online) for today's science program.
Some of today's activities included:
- experimenting with colours
- predicting and observing if various substances would dissolve in water
- learning about stars and planets in space
- "digging" for dinosaur bones and talking about fossils
- observing many shells, a shark jaw, a squid, and so much more!
