Save the date:
On Friday, June 14th we will be having our end-of-year picnic, during which our class will share some of the songs they've learned this year. We hope you can join us for this event from approximately 12-1 (You will bring your own picnic food. Weather permitting, we'll picnic outside. If not, we'll gather in the classroom).
Songs:
Our class loves singing songs! Today your child brought home a packet that includes many of the songs we've been singing over the past few months. I expect they'll be eager to share these with you.
Meezan School:
We had a great time welcoming the students from the Meezan school, and showing them things in our class. Thank you so much to everyone who sent in fruit (especially with such short notice!). The fruit skewers were delicious! We're hoping to meet up with the Meezan Kindergarten class in June for a picnic and play at a park. Stay tuned for more details.
Bridget's Visit:
Callum's baby sister Bridget came to visit the class. The kids loved watching her and there was lots of great conversation about the things young babies can and cannot do. We learned that she eats, sleeps, cries and sometimes smiles, and that she doesn't colour pictures or eat solid food...yet. She'll be coming back to visit the class a couple of more times before the end of the year!
African Lion Safari:
As previously mentioned, due to the overwhelming response we had for volunteers, we are asking that each volunteer pay to participate in the outing. If you expressed an interest in coming, you're welcome to come! The cost for adults is $18 and you can send cash or pay online. Thank you for your understanding. If the cost is a concern, please let us know. As well, we need to know if you prefer driving or taking the bus. If you are volunteering, please take 2 minutes to complete this quick questionnaire (even if you've already told us your plans). Please do this as soon as possible. Thanks!

Ami du jour:
At the end of next week, we will begin our final round of "ami du jour". Once again, the names will be drawn randomly and your child will find out the day before that they will be the "ami". Instead of sharing something from home, they will be asked to share something from that day at school (e.g. something interesting they found/saw outside, something they drew, a photo or video (taken at school) of something interesting that they created or discovered).
Important update:
Over the past couple of months I've been experiencing some health problems, and have been advised by my doctor to take a leave from work. Beginning next Tuesday, I will be on a 3 week leave. After that time, I hope to return to work part-time, but there is a chance I will be off for the remainder of the year. I will still be in regular contact with Madame Noftall and will be communicating with the supply teacher(s). I will do my best to join the class for some of our special events. I will be continuing to check my work email.
Ramp mania:
Some of our students have been very busy building amazing ramps and ball run structures. You can check them out here:
