a gift), please send a veggie
Tuesday, Dec. 12 - soup preparations (please send a vegetable either Monday or Tuesday for another round of
"stone soup")
Thursday, Dec. 13 - class play and "picnic" (info below)
Glass Jars:
We're wanting to collect glass jars. Ideally about 500ml or a bit larger. You can send these to school this week and next. Thanks.
12 Days of Giving:
Please see the note that was sent home today about our school's "12 Days of Giving" campaign during which we're collecting hats, mittens and other items for those in need.
"Hero of the Week":
Each child will have an opportunity to be our "Hero of the week" and to share their special interests and skills with the class. We are beginning this week and this will continue until the end of the school year. You will receive a letter the week before your child is the "Hero". If your child wants to share something that they do outside of school (e.g. skating, swimming, etc.), you could take a video of them doing that activity and share it with us.
FYI:
We wanted to inform you that Mme Germann (the planning teacher who is with the class 3 mornings a week) is currently on a leave). She is hoping to return in the new year. We are trying to keep the routines as consistent as possible while we have supply teachers. There will be one supply teacher for this whole week.
Play and Picnic - You're invited to join us on Thursday, Dec. 13th
"Doors open" at 11:50 and our plays will begin at noon (one by our class and one from Mme Higgins and Mme Tran's class). After our two plays, we will eat together in the gym. Please bring a blanket and food for your own family to enjoy while we "picnic" in the gym. We hope to also have some soup for you to enjoy. You're welcome to come for either the play, the picnic or both parts of the event.
We're in full swing preparing for our play! If possible, please help your child find the clothing colour listed below (if applicable). Please do not buy something, we can find shirts for those who do not have them. Just let us know if you need to borrow an item. The children should know their parts, but if they are unsure, just ask us!
All students will wear a winter hat (not a balaclava type hat). Other items/colours:
Narrators: Black and/or white clothing, or fancy attire (dress, vest, tie, etc.).
"carrot house": orange tops (we can provide t-shirts unless there's something else orange they would like to wear)
"onion house": white tops (t-shirt, long sleeve shirt or sweater)
"potato house": brown tops (t-shirt, long sleeve shirt or sweater)
"broccoli house": green tops (t-shirt, long sleeve shirt or sweater)
The "travelers" will wear their winter coats for the play.
